Hello! A while ago, I got a 3-month trial of TPE here with the primary intention of WikiGnoming template-protected modules — making small simplifications to modules to make them more efficient and/or easier to read. My trial expired a while back while I was away, and my interest in editing Wikipedia waned at around the same time, so I didn't re-request it. My interest has partially returned, though, so I would now like to request permanent TPE. I'm confident in my ability to avoid causing any ruckus; I didn't get into any conflict during my trial, and I made sure to test changes and ensure they wouldn't be controversial.

(Note: I'm relatively certain this'll be asked about, so: my Gnomehub I created during my trial does include a few regex searches for things that might be controversial to simplify (although maybe I'm just wildly overestimating underestimating the elevation of the "controversial" bar), but those don't serve as statements that simplifying those would never be controversial; those searches might never be used to make such edits, and just lay dormant as an indication of "this pattern of code might not be perfect in an objective sense" to be used if I think simplifying it would be appropriate and non-controversial. My trial run has ended, and I am coming back to request full permissions. None of the edits to protected templates have been reverted, and I've reviewed and implemented multiple edit requests.
