== Usage ==
This template is for use on category pages for births by year in the [[Common Era]]. 

To create such a page, add
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">{{Birth year category header|D|Y}}</syntaxhighlight>
where D is the year without the last digit, and Y is the last digit of the year. 

For example, for births in year 2017, add 
<syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext">{{Birth year category header|201|7}}</syntaxhighlight>

The template will put the category into a parent category for births in that decade, [[:Category:2010s births]], as well as the category for events in that year.
